MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
MASSILLON CITY COUNCIL
HELD, MONDAY, JULY 30, 2007

ACTING COUNCIL PRESIDENT BRYAN I call this special meeting of Massillon City Council held July 30, 2007 to order.

1. ROLL CALL

Roll call for the evening found the following Council Members present: Tim Bryan, Kathy Catazaro-Perry, Jayne Ferrero, Chuck Maier, Ron Mang, Paul Manson and Tony Townsend.

Thus giving a roll call vote of 8 present.

COUNCILMAN BRYAN If you would all please just stand with me and say together the Pledge of Allegiance. The only legislation on our agenda for this special meeting is Resolution No. 6 – 2007. I’ll recognize Councilwoman Catazaro-Perry.

COUNCILWOMAN CATAZARO-PERRY Mr. Bryan, would it be appropriate to excuse Mr. Peters?

COUNCILMAN BRYAN Since it’s a special meeting I don’t think there’s any reason we have to do that.

COUNCILWOMAN CATAZARO-PERRY Okay, well we called this special meeting this evening to repeal Resolution No. 4 – 2007 and enact Resolution No. 6 – 2007. The verbiage is incorrect it wasn’t not a renewal levy it’s a replacement of a tax in the amount of 1 mill for each $1.00 of evaluation which amounts to $.10 per $100.00 for a period of 5 years for the free Museum of Arts, Science and History that is maintained here in our city. It will be placed on the ballot Tuesday, November 6, 2007.

COUNCILWOMAN CATAZARO-PERRY moved for suspension of the rules and passage, seconded by Councilman Manson.

COUNCILMAN BRYAN Let the record show before you call the roll Madame Clerk that Councilman Peters has now in attendance. Please call the roll.

The rules were suspended by a roll call vote of 9 yes.

RESOLUTION NO. 6 – 2007 WAS PASSED BY A ROLL CALL VOTE OF 9 YES.

COUNCILMAN BRYAN Resolution No. 6 – 2007 is passed I thank all members for attending this special meeting. There being no more business on our agenda this special meeting is adjourned.
